What is your policy on the language/subtitles of a submission?
We would prefer it if submissions are either in English or contain subtitles. If that cannot be
arranged we will will a accept the submission with a copy of the script in English. If you can't
translate it on your own, there are websites (such as
translate.google.com ) that can translate for
you.
What do you mean by "Entry Format"?
Entry Format is the medium which you send us your submission. We accept both digital
files via media upload, or through the mail. A media upload link, or address will be presented at
the time of submission. Please see individual categories for submission requirements.
Is it possible to submit material filmed entirely on a mobile phone?
Yes. We currently accept these types of submissions in the 'Mobile' category for works
created by cell phone camera and/or intended for exhibition on mobile devices. NOTE: Duration
must be five minutes or less. (Limit one episode per submission. Otherwise submit as a "Web or
Mobile Series").
I'm filling in the submission form for our web series and I'm wondering, what is "Public
Screening Format'?
For screening purposes we need a dvd or an email-able file. Should you be accepted, the
choices listed on the submission form are what the theaters are able to show on their equipment.
How do I submit an App?
Apps are tricky because there is usually a fee for someone to download an app. We are
offering people the opportunity to send snap shots of their app pares and/or a demo. Or, to let us
know how to download and how much it costs. If it's not too expensive, we can take it from the
submission fee itself.
Can I volunteer to work at the New Media Film Festival?
Yes. Just send us an email using out "

and how to get ahold of you.
Who will view my submission?
All submissions will be reviewed by a team of three screeners. If two out of three screeners
say no, the submission will still be catalogued in case an opportunity comes up in the future where
it would suit one of our channels. If the submission gets through to the next level, Founder/
Director Susan Johnston will view it and determine if it should be passed through to the judges.

We accept payment for submissions via Paypal, most major credit cards are accepted. You
can also pay offline via check or money order.

film festival is for Artists, Filmakers, Producers, Directors, Above and Below the line Crews,

What is the submission deadline for this year's competition?
Submission deadline for the New Media Film Festival 2011 is May 10th at Midnight.
If we have a premier for our submission before entering it into NMFF, will we still be
eligible to enter?
We accept any and all material, so long as it meets criteria. If your submission has
premiered elsewhere before coming to NMFF, please specify premier location (ex.
North America, Europe, South America etc) so that we can advertise properly.
Do the submissions have to have been made within a certain time period to be
eligible for submission?
We feel like some people are ahead of their time, so if it fits our criteria go ahead and
send it in regardless of when the submission was made.
Is there an official list of Entry Rules & Requirements?
We accept entries from All Ages, All Cultures, All Media, and All Countries. Student
Submissions are also accepted, however please submit a copy of your student ID
along with the submission.
What does IMDB Qualifying festival mean?
IMDb qualifying Festivals means that all filmmakers submitting to your Festival and placed In Consideration will automatically receive an invitation to create a title page on IMDb for their film. So in that regard, it is automatic for filmmakers.
