Artist Statement
In my photography creation, I use posing to explore the delicate balance between women’s family and career. Through the model’s body language and carefully designed visual metaphors, I try to express this double burden with humorous and ironic brushstrokes. Props that symbolize housework and workplace tools are deliberately coxtapositioned, sometimes even in the form of exaggeration or irony, to highlight the absurdity and complexity of contemporary gender expectations. These set scenes are not only a visual comment on how women’s bodies are socially constructed to carry the dual requirements of family and career at the same time, but also a critical and light reflection on contemporary women’s experience.
